Roger brings more than 25 years of experience in energy/commodity transacting, risk management (E/CTRM), information technology, strategy and project management  to AXCELERUS from his background in the financial services, manufacturing and energy sectors. With more than a dozen CTRM system selections/implementations across both energy and non-energy commodities, 13 years as a leader of a big-four ETRM practice and over 20 industry whitepapers, he is considered an industry specialist in the technologies and processes supporting front, middle, back office activities.

Prashant brings more than 20 years of strong experience in the full energy/ commodity transacting life-cycle, risk management, risk reporting, front, middle and back-office processes and energy/commodity trading and risk management (E/CTRM) systems. He is a team leader, strong relationship builder and trusted business advisor skilled in business and risk strategy development, business process improvement, strategic, financial/risk analyses plus market and credit risk reporting, E/CTRM system implementation, interface development, enterprise risk management and custom systems development.  

Prior to Axcelerus, Prashant was part of Deloitte’s E/CTRM practice where he led firm efforts in the E/CTRM, energy risk and compliance space. He has managed cross-functional teams from short four week to multi-year multi-million dollar transformation engagements. He was a member of Deloitte’s derivative reform group focused on understanding Dodd-Frank act implications; a core member of Deloitte’s Marcellus Shale Initiative, focusing on eminence and client relationship activities. Prashant led efforts to set up Deloitte's offshore India energy risk and E/CTRM practice, including recruiting, training and deployment of India resources. He has represented the firm at Deloitte’s annual CIO Roundtable, vendor user conferences and industry events.

Prior to Deloitte, Prashant held a leadership position at a boutique risk IT consulting firm where he lead client service delivery, business development and eminence activities. Prior to that, Prashant was part of the Energy & Resources practice at Accenture, focusing on corporate and business strategy consulting.

Select engagements:

• Risk management:
  • Led transformation engagement to set-up a market analytics organization for an oil & gas super-major; developed quantitative models and capability, focusing on arbitrage, earnings validation, price forecasting, fundamental analyses and technology surrounding analytical models.
  • Managed engagements focusing on risk process transformation; middle office operations (including trading validations, risk control and end-of-day (EOD) operations); market risk and credit risk; risk reporting covering position, P&L, MTM, VaR reporting, P&L attribution; portfolio stress testing, scenario analysis; independent price validations; price forecasting; and fundamental analyses.
  • Advised CRO, CIO, market risk managers, and other senior executives on energy risk management; credit exposure reporting; ETRM; market and credit risk; Dodd-Frank compliance; and business case analyses.

• Risk Technology / Trading and risk management (TRM) systems:
  • Advised CIO and Global PMO of a global commodities trader on Power & Gas ETRM implementation, effective project and vendor management. Identified key issues with vendor work scope and signed contract, saving the client $3 million+ in implementation costs. Led management of issues and risks; developed contingencies, business & functional requirements and a change management plan; managed interface requirements and development efforts.
  • Managed ETRM system selection efforts covering CXL, Allegro, Openlink and Aligne; conducted assessment of current ETRM platform architecture for a large US utility; defined future state architecture, developed business and technical requirements and built business case for replacing existing ETRM systems.
  • Conducted assessment of current ETRM application; reviewed static data (books, market/locations, counterparties, contracts, user values), transaction data, price curves, enterprise risk reporting (including VaR reporting), business process and interfaces with other systems.
  • Credit risk data warehouse engagement focused on data analysis, data lineage, data quality, data governance, and strategic analysis aspects of the project
  • Led assessment of an ETRM – Data warehouse interface for a leading power utility. Reviewed & identified issues related to ETRM functionality, interface design, data extraction & validation and data warehouse staging tables.

Prashant is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has a Masters degree in Management Studies (MBA) and Bachelors degree in Engineering.

John has over 25 years experience as a risk management professional and trader in global energy & commodities markets. He provides subject matter expertise & project management as an independent & objective source of solutions for risk governance, trading, operations, shipping & logistics, and technology for commodity & energy markets.  Prior to AXCELERUS, John was a successful soft commodity trader in New York transacting with suppliers and clients from South America to the USA, Europe and Australia.  His career also includes 11 years with Deloitte’s ETRM/CTRM practice, subsequently transitioning to develop his own successful consultancy, with projects covering risk policy/business process improvement; CTRM system functional/technical evaluation; CTRM system selection & implementation.
